The LEED Platinum® Ohlone College Newark Center for Health Sciences and Technology in Newark, California incorporates several green building features including, dual pane glass, renewable energy resources, thermal performance and daylight. Kawneer’s 1600 Wall System®1 Curtain Wall and 1600 Wall System®2 Curtain Wall are featured throughout the building, contributing to design and performance goals.
The Ohlone College Newark Center for Technology and Health Sciences in Newark, California is a direct outgrowth of Ohlone College's Educational Master Plan. The Center constitutes approximately 130,000 gross square feet of learning space. Groups represented in the new campus include academic programs such as:

The Center design creates a "sense of place" through a central social hub as well as connecting corridors featuring ancillary services and amenities. The design incorporates sustainable architecture principles, and is based on LEED® certification. In August 2008, the Newark Center officially achieved LEED® Platinum Certification by the US Green Building Council for environmentally sustainable construction and building operation.
